Wilfred McDonald King, aka Mackie, was born in Trinidad on June 30, 1953 to Daisy and McDonald King. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the second of 3 children and grew up with an older sister and younger brother.
He was full of life. As a youngster, he loved to play sports; his favorites were soccer and cricket. He was into the arts, he loved to draw and even acted in school plays. He also loved music, specifically soca and reggae. His family moved from Trinidad to NYC in 1969.
Mackie was a family man. He lived for and loved his family tremendously. In 1976 he met a young woman named Debra. After much courting, they fell in love, got married in 1982 and started a family. He loved to read, spend time with his family and friends, go to the movies and discuss sports and politics. He was a loyal fan of the Knicks, Mets and Jets. He was an avid entrepreneur, business owner and a paralegal.
Mackie is survived by his wife, Debra King, his sister, Angela Cedeno, his brother, Kenrick King, his children, Tesfa, Makeda, Sheba, Aisha, Natasha, Kariyma, Saleema, Ishmael and his grandchildren, Dylan, Beverly, Kristian, Nubia and Aliyah.
He was loved by so many, and will be missed.
