On the morning of March 20, 2025, Tyquan Johnson peacefully transitioned at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was 47 years young.

Tyquan was born on October 28, 1977 in Staten Island, New York to Shirley Johnson and David Davis. Tyquan attended Port Richmond High School. Although close family referred to his as T-Rub, he was known to many as Trouble and Tykie.

Tyquan’s tough beginnings led him down the path of hustling. He was devastated by the death of his Grandmother Othamae Johnson.  However, with his resilient attitude, Tyquan found his way out of the streets and became a devoted family man, participating in Girls Scouts with some of his children, picking up and dropping his kids off at school every day, Attending every doctor appointment, and giving his heart to his spouse Amia Gaskins. He’s always admitted he wasn’t perfect, but cared enough to change his life for the better.

Tyquan is survived by his 12 children Jose, Keara, Ashon, Qu’Disha, Tyquan, Jason, Neveah, Zyaire, Latrell, Sharelle, Zanelle, and His youngest Raquel. He is also survived by his Grandfather Johnnie Johnson, his mother Shirley, his sister Sequana Johnson and nephew and nieces Davieon, C'Asia, and Da'Jailyn. He also survived by his Soulmate of 14 years Amia, as well as many other family and friends that loved and missed him dearly. Tyquan is one of the founding members of IVH or The Four horseman, a group of brothers and sisters that met during youth, and banded together since. He was known as PopaHorse to IVH, and was loved dearly.

Tyquan is also known for his grace, charisma, being 420 friendly, and positivity. He can go anywhere, and  make anyone smile. Tyquan loved music. His favorite group was The Wutang Clan, and his spouse often joking told him that he was a Honorary member of the group.

In the last few years of his journey, Tyquan was diagnosed with a debilitating condition that unfortunately caused him to not be able to work. However that didn’t stop him from still being a loving father until the end.

He is still loved dearly and will be missed tremendously.
