With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Tameicina “Tamica” Johnson, who departed this life on June 12, 2026, at the age of 55.

Tamica was born on September 20, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois. She later made her home in Staten Island, New York, where she touched countless lives through her kindness, compassion, and unforgettable sense of humor.

Tamica dedicated her life to caring for others. Having pursued medical studies, she devoted much of her career to caring for individuals with disabilities. Her nurturing spirit and generous heart made her a source of comfort and support to all who knew her.

A woman of faith, Tamica was a devoted lover of God. She attended church faithfully and found strength, peace, and guidance through prayer. Her faith carried her through life’s challenges and inspired those around her.

Tamica had a passion for fashion and loved shopping. She was known for her impeccable style, especially her love of shoes and purses. Whether she was dressing up for an occasion or simply enjoying a day out, she always carried herself with confidence and grace.

She also loved to dance and never missed an opportunity to enjoy good music. Tamica was truly the life of the party. Her vibrant personality, infectious energy, and joyful spirit could light up any room. Whether it was a family gathering, celebration, or a simple get-together, she had a way of bringing people together and creating memories filled with laughter and happiness.

Above all else, Tamica cherished her family. She was the proud mother of one daughter, Khadeza Monet, who was the center of her world. Tamica poured her heart, her love, and everything she had into raising her daughter. She was her greatest supporter, fiercest protector, and most devoted cheerleader. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and the love she had for her daughter was evident in everything she did. 

Tamica was also a deeply devoted and hands-on grandmother to Darien and Kaylani. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and remained actively involved in their lives, even down to her last days. Whether offering guidance, sharing laughs, creating special memories, or simply being present, her love and dedication never wavered. Her family always came first, and she made sure those she loved knew it every single day.

Tamica found immense joy in cooking for her family, filling their home with love, laughter, and unforgettable meals. Her baked ziti was legendary among family and friends and will be lovingly remembered for years to come.

Anyone who knew Tamica knew that laughter followed wherever she went. She had a remarkable gift for making people smile and finding humor even in difficult moments. Her contagious laugh and positive outlook brought light into the lives of everyone around her. She truly made the best out of every situation and taught others to do the same.

Tamica was preceded in death by her beloved father, James. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Khadeza Mone’ Alford; her cherished grandchildren, Darien Webber Jr. and Kaylani Webber; her loving mother, Elizabeth Johnson; her brothers, Alexander Harris and Shondel Ellerbe; her beloved companion, Bernard Carter; and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will be forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that Tamica’s love, laughter, faith, generosity, and beautiful spirit will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
