Stella Gordon, age 77, peacefully transitioned April 30th, 2024. Her final days were spent battling Alzheimer’s Dementia in the ICU of Staten Island University Hospital.

Stella Gordon was born August 4th, 1946. in the Caribbean Island of Trinidad and Tobago from the parents of Wilfred and Eldora Jarvis. Although born Stella Jarvis, that changed as she found love and married Leslie Gordon. Stella and Leslie share three children Learie, Sherryann and Sandra Gordon. But this was not it for Stella. A new chapter began when Stella came to the United States, bringing along her (2) daughters, Sherryann, and Sandra; this is where they became American citizens. Later she met Rupert Gaskin and would later go on to share (2) boys Clive and Clayton Gaskin. Stella was a family woman, and it was felt by everyone.

On paper, she goes by Stella Gordon. But to the people that knew her, she will always be a sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great grandmother, and Friend. The list goes on; Momma Gordon, G lady and even Mdot. And with every title, she gave every role she played her absolute all. Stella could always be heard enjoying Gospel music at Church or around the house. Her favorite music was Country music, one of her favorite pastimes was singing to her plants every morning before having her cup of coffee. She was a nurturer at heart, Stella’s favorite color was green, and she loved to see the flowers bloom throughout the seasons. It was also her dream to someday open a restaurant in the US. Armed with her cookbook, she always made sure everyone was fed.

Momma Gordon’s later years were spent battling a health decline. She fought through many surgeries and was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. However, this did not slow her down. She spent her time enjoying the company of her children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her cat Nemo. She enjoyed dancing to Soca music while in the car and when her kids or grandkids came to the door, she was always ready with her air gun in hand. When we think of Stella, we will always remember how big her heart was. She would take in & care of whoever was in need. The list of non-biological children shows this. To her, this was her doing the Lord’s work. As her faith would have it, she spent her Sunday mornings at Church or watching her service from wherever she was at the time.

Stella is predeceased by her parents; Eldora and Wilfred Jarvis, son; Learie Gordon, siblings; Allen, Selwyn, Edwin, Merlean and Ursilla. She leaves behind Ex husband; Leslie Gordon, (5) children; Sandra, Clive, Clayton, Sherryann, and Joy who she later adopted as her own. (8) Grandchildren; Catherine, Shalika, Matthew, Cheryl (Sunshine), Marcus, Saquan, Jonathan, and Daniel. (5) Great Grandchildren; Cayden, Azera, Chayce, Cameron, and Christien. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews; Angela, Cynthia, Harold, Lisa, and many more her dearest and closest friend Carol and other loved ones.
