Shawn Terrell Horton known as “S.” son of the late Patricia Darby-Early and James Horton was born on June 10, 1968 in Jackson, Mississippi. When he was 2 years old the family moved to Staten Island, New York which became his hometown. Shawn Horton attended P.S.14 and New Dorp High School where he received a high school diploma. Shawn was a janitor for human resources association in Staten Island, NY for many years.
Shawn was a great family man and a loving father to his one and only daughter Nayleesha Mapp, that he called “Leesha”. As well as his god son Anthony Jr. that he called “Tony”. Shawn was devoted to his partner of seven teen years Leslie Connor, and his step daughter Tierra “Tee Tee” Eddy. Shawn gave back to his community by helping elders at his girlfriend’s church. His neighborhood loved him for his welcoming laughter and corny jokes.
Shawn was a social man who had a deep love for 90s R&B music, hip hop and watched football every Sunday, as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Whenever you seen him he ensured to have a New York yankee fitted hat. He enjoyed home cook meals, being active, and spending time with his daughter. Shawn was creative, loved drawing and writing. Shawn was a generous, loving, and funny personality human being. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children Nayleesha Mapp, god son Anthony Jr. His younger sisters Terri Horton, Candance Iceson, and Denise Drake. As well as his Nieces Ashley, Sheena and Nephew Ashton. His grand dog Cookie and cat Bandit. His daughter’s mother and best friend Valora Mapp Hammond of over 30 years. The many extended relatives that he made family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
