In doing so, she was able to pursue an internship and work during her last year of high school.
Shadella completed an internship at Faces of the Performing Arts and worked at E-Z Pass. These experiences helped shape her strong work ethic and dedication. In 2000, she met the love of her life, Christopher Lance Loftin her high school sweetheart. Shadella graduated with honors in 2001.
In 2002, Shadella enrolled at the College of Staten Island, initially pursuing nursing before changing her major to teaching. She later earned an Associate of Science degree.
In 2005, Shadella joined the New York City Department of Correction as a Correction Officer, taking on one of the most demanding and challenging professions with strength, resilience, and dedication. She proudly served for many years.
On August 10, 2013, Shadella and Christopher Loftin were married, beginning a beautiful chapter of life together built on love, partnership, and family. She cherished vacations with her family, movie nights and game nights with her children and she also enjoyed collecting Disney trinkets. Family for Shadella was everything. She loved being a big sister, a devoted wife, and a loving mother. She especially looked forward to holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas because it brought everyone together. She treasured spending time with family, writing poems and creating memories with the people she loved most.
Shadella was warm, caring, giving and a soft-hearted person. She disliked conflict and never looked for it, but she was also strong-willed and protective of those she loved.
