Obituary

Seqouia Ivy Snead, was born on October 17th, 1993 the eldest daughter of Yvone Snead and Charles “Butch” Walker. She attended Michael J. Petrides School and graduated in 2011 from New Dorp High School. She worked a Shop Rite shortly after high school before pursuing a career as a home health aide. She loved caring for others and was overjoyed when she was accepted for a job at Eger Nursing Home. She aspired to be a Nurse, seeing that as a step forward toward the bright future she was trying to build for herself and her daughter.

She loved fashion and really enjoyed playing around with makeup. Once she achieved a look she was proud of she always commemorated it with a photo. She was quiet and kept a lot to herself, but always tried to be kind and lead with love. Most of all she loved children, probably something to do with having been surrounded by such a large family. She always enjoyed taking with them, learning about them and spending time at any event where children were around. She was always down to create the decorations for every kid’s party. She leaves behind a great legacy in her dearest daughter Elizabeth Odessa Wallace and her father Eric Wallace.

She was the beloved granddaughter of Claudia & Sidney Snead and Brenda Etchison Fladger & Edward Fladger and Godaughter of Hermaine Bryant-Smith.

She hails from a large and close-knit immediate family including two cherished sisters, Claudia Snead and Eva Snead and five treasured brothers: Shawn Sidney Snead, Charles Snead, Amani Snead, Malek Walker and Dezsi Loftin.

She is missed by her aunts and uncles: Cheryl Dodd, Elizabeth Phillips, Lovette Snead, Eva Outlaw, Beaun and Linda Etchison Wilkerson, Donald Etchison, Darrel Etchison, Maria Etchison Butler, Chad Fladger, Chanel Fladger, Courtney Fladger Chandra Fladger, Corey Fladger, Cierra Fladger, Chavarre Fladger, Chiana Fladger. Her loss is also felt immensely by her village of cousins with whom she grew up closely: Charmaine Dodd-Villatoro, Nicky Dodd, Christian Valdivieso, Lorraina Valdivieso, Gerald Gobin, Will Ervin, Jason Phillips, Jordan Phillips, Darren Dodd, Nellie Dodd, Nandy Dodd, Masie, Abijah, Akieff, Tysha Dodd, Kimba Dodd.

We pray she has been greeted in heaven by her father Charles “Butch” Walker, her grandfather’s Sidney Snead and Charles Walker Sr., her uncle Darren Dodd, her cousin Naomi Jenkins and her godchild Brielle Holloway. She was also preceded by her paternal grandparents Marion and Booker T. Etchison Sr., Aunt Diana Jo Etchison and her Uncle Booker T. Etchison Jr.
