Ruth Norris, age 85, died on July 18, 2024 in New Jersey.  Ruth was born on December 25, 1938 in Buffalo, South Carolina to Aubrey Norris Sr. and Mattie Norris.  She graduated from Sims High School in 1958 in Union, South Carolina.  She relocated to Staten Island, New York, in 1958. She held various positions and eventually retired from Proctor and Gamble after 15 years of service.

Ruth’s love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always putting her family’s needs above her own.  Her vibrant personality and straightforward nature made her a joy to be around.  She found pleasure in traveling, shopping, and hosting family gatherings.

Ruth was predeceased by her brothers John D. Norris, Charles E. Norris and her sisters Bessie Lloyd, Iola Jones and Gwendolyn Norris.

Ruth is survived by her Companion Edwin Milton (Debbie Milton-Grant, Clifton Milton), Daughters Jacqueline Jones, Donna Carrington, Novella (Norris) Peck and Son in Law Robert Peck, Grandchildren, Kiara Jones, Cameron Peck and Nyla Peck, Great Grand-daughters Raina Barnes and KaMaria Wallace. She is also survived by her two siblings Irene Nichols (Bennie Nichols) and Aubrey Norris Jr. (Marsha Norris), and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
