Rudolph Arrindell of Staten Island, New York, departed from this world on September 1, 2024, at the venerable age of ninety-six. Born in 1927 to the late William and Olive Arrindell, “Rudy” was an ardent servant of his country and during World War II, he honored this nation through his service in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Stewards Mate Second Class aboard the USS Krishna and the aircraft carrier USS Tarawa. His years of dedicated military service were followed by some time as a Postal Carrier and then on to a rewarding career at the US Gypsum Company, where he worked until his well-deserved retirement.
Rudy was the cherished patriarch of a vast and loving family. Known affectionately as "Uncle Rudy," he represented strength and kindness, and his presence brought joy and unity to family gatherings.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Bevel; grandson, Jeffrey Bevel Jr., and his niece Amelia McBeth,
He also leaves behind great nephews: James Warner Jr. and spouse Michelle Thompson, great nephew John McBeth and spouse Rev. Dr. Agnes McBeth, great niece Claudette McBeth-Worme and spouse Sheldon Worme Sr., great niece: Marie McBeth-Marable and spouse Carlton Marable, great nephew Michael McBeth and great niece Monique Garnett.
Grandnieces: Aaliyah McBeth, Alexandria McBeth, Toneakqua Thompson, Kaila Walker and Grandnephews: John Anthony Branch, Trevor Gnyp, Troy Jordon, Isaiah McBeth, John Anthony McBeth, John F McBeth Jr., Malcolm McBeth, Shawn Warner, Sheldon Worme Jr., and Terrell Worme.
And many other beloved family members, from the Arrindell, Brooks, Carti, Goldson, Pantophlet, Richardson, Roland, and Warner families. Uncle Rudy's legacy and endurance will continue to live on through his family, and through the network of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His love also reaches out to those who have departed before him.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law James and Patricia Arrindell, sister Beulah Arrindell-Warner, grandson Armony Bevel, nephew James Warner Sr., niece Cheryl Arrindell, great-nephew Mark Warner, grand-nephew Tajmir Briggs Warner and God-daughter Carla Pantophlet-Laban.
Rudolph Arrindell's life was a testament to family. As we gather to bid him farewell, we celebrate the enduring mark he left on our hearts and in our lives. His spirit is forever anchored in our memories and will continue to guide and enrich us for generations to come.
To the living, he is gone. To the sorrowful, he will never return. To the angry, they were cheated, but to the happy, he is at peace, and to the faithful, he has never really left us. So, until we meet again, sleep well Uncle Rudy.
