Robert Tubbs Jr. who was affectionately known as Junior was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Robert departed this life on June 10, 2024, at 10:40 p.m. in Rego Park, Queens, New York. He was born to the Late Robert Tubbs Sr. (deceased 1995) and Leona Tubbs (deceased 2022) of Fort Wayne Indiana. Robert was the 8th of 13 siblings Devone Taylor, Barbara Tubbs (deceased in 2022) Roberta Tubbs-Grantham (deceased 2021), Denise Tubbs (deceased 2022) Bruce Tubbs, Sandra Tubbs, Sharon Tubbs (deceased 2017) Wanda Tubbs (Hope), Jacqueline Tubbs-Chapman, Eric Tubbs, Dynita Tubbs (Micky) and Gregory Tubbs.
Robert attended Richmond Hill High School. His initial employment experience was in a sales capacity and shortly after he worked providing supportive services to families and children who were at risk. He began a family with Brenda Bennett of Dover Delaware and their son Robert Seron Tubbs was born in 1980. Robert went on to work in Building Management until his retirement. He continued his family with Yvonne Jimenez of Ohio and from their union Branden Tubbs was born in 1996 and Alicea Tubbs was born in 2002.
Robert joined the St. Phillips Baptist church where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Robert was spiritually gifted and talented. He enjoyed singing and was a published poet. Robert had a great sense of humor. He used his humor to entertain and soothe others and cope with the trials of life. Robert was a dedicated family man with a strong work ethic. He was well liked by many and felt it was his duty to mentor and encourage others.
Robert leaves his love and fondest memories to be cherished by his surviving relatives his 3 children, Robert Seron Tubbs, Branden Tubbs, Alicea Tubbs, and his granddaughter Leona Tubbs; his 8 surviving siblings Devone Taylor, Bruce Tubbs,
Sandra Tubbs, Wanda Tubbs, Jacqueline Tubbs-Chapman, Eric Tubbs, Dynita Tubbs, Gregory Tubbs and his 2 sisters in laws Denise Tubbs and Mekedes Alebachew-Tubbs and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and the mothers of his children Brenda Bennett and Yvonne Jimenez.
