Paula C. Livingston, lovingly known as “Christy” a cherished nickname given to her by the love of her life, entered eternal rest on June 7, 2026, at the age of 83.

Paula was born on June 29, 1942, in Staten Island, New York, to Marguerite Oates. A proud Staten Islander throughout her life, she carried a deep love for her roots and an even deeper love for her family.

She attended PS 18 as a child and went on to graduate from Curtis High School. Committed to lifelong learning, Paula earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from the College of Staten Island, driven by a heartfelt desire to one day become a Social Worker, a reflection of her compassionate and nurturing spirit.

On August 25, 1960, Paula married the love of her life, Chester A. Livingston. Together, they built a marriage rooted in devotion, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. To Chester, she was always “Christy”, a name that captured something tender and private between them. Chester preceded her in death approximately six years ago, yet the love they shared remained a constant source of strength and comfort to Paula throughout the rest of her days. They are reunited now.

Paula began her professional career with the United States Postal Service and later served with the New York Telephone Company. In time, she made the deliberate and loving choice to leave the workforce to dedicate herself fully to her family and home, embracing with pride and joy her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Paula found great joy in bowling, dancing, and traveling. She loved watching game shows, particularly those she shared with her husband, and her heart always moved to the sound of Motown music. She was known for her quick wit, her sharp humor, and her warm and loving spirit. The kind of woman who could make you laugh and feel loved in the same breath.

Paula was a devoted and loving mother to her three children: Henry, Edward, and Suzette. She is survived by her children; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a cherished goddaughter; a beloved aunt, and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends whose lives were immeasurably blessed by her presence.

Paula will be remembered for her strength, her grace, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her.
