Norma Iris Candelaria passed away peacefully on March 10, surrounded by her loving family, and entered into the loving arms of the Lord.
Norma is survived by her partner and friend, Iris Rodriguez; her son, Ethan Candelaria; her daughter-in-law, Damaris; and her two cherished grandchildren, Aliyanna Estrella and Ethan Ezekiel. She is also survived by her siblings, Zulma Cruz, Alfredo Candelaria, and Wanda Dominguez, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Norma had an infectious smile and a vibrant spirit. She was a natural charmer who loved music and dancing. Larger than life, she brought joy wherever she went—many would agree she was truly the life of the party.
She worked for several years as a security guard at Project Hospitality’s drop-in homeless shelter, where she found great fulfillment in helping others.
Norma will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A graveside prayer service will be held on Friday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery on Clove Road.
“When music plays, we’ll think of you, your laughter bright, your spirit true.
Though you have gone, you’re never far, you live within us as our guiding star.”
