Nilsa Cruz

Nilsa was raised in and spent her early years in Puerto Rico. She came to came to the New York as a young teenager . Nilsa Cruz was a wife, a mother, an active member of the community whose work with the food bank impacted many people in a positive way. Her passion for helping others was her driving force and she always knew where to direct others for the resources they needed. She was a devoted member of Faith United Methodist Church since 2022 and also a poll worker for the City of New York. 

She leaves behind a son, Jose Delgado, God Daughter, Merissa Thompson, numerous nieces ,nephews, and cousins. Her tragic and unexpected loss was preceeded by the death of her husband, Gurmecindo Cruz in November.
