Nicole Jenelle Cornish, was born on July 20, 1977, the hottest summer ever, This should have been a hint. The week before she was born was the worst blackout in history. The day she was born was memorable, Her mother had to have surgery, on the way to the surgery theatre, the resident doctor, Judy, and her mother got stuck in the elevator, when the elevator was restored, the bounce caused Judy’s scrub pants to fall down.
Her father, Robert Cornish and her sister LaTasha Gaudy were the welcome home committee.
Nicole attended Immaculate Conception and Trinity Lutheran Elementary School, She attended the New York Military Academy, Mount Saint John’s Academy, an all girls boarding school and finally Curtis High School. She graduated from Queens Plaza College. She worked as a professional dancer, sold prepared meals. Although Nicole’s illness medically labeled her disabled, Nicole still served her community as a tax preparation assistant and a team member at Wendy’s
While Nicole excelled in academics, her true love was poetry. The passionate poet not only shared her writings with the internet, but also performed her art for the community to hear and see. As a tribute to her late high school friend, Nicole didn’t stop there, Nicole started teaching herself to cook. She was well known for sharing her recipes on Facebook. Last year she made it to the finals of 2024s “FavChef”.
She spent the last 13 years dealing with kidney failure and dialysis, that is what took her away from her friends and family.
She is survived by her father, Robert, her mother Eloise Hawkins, her daughter Bianca Boston, son Brandon Cornish, her sister, Latasha Gaudy, her niece, Aja Davis-Budd, her grandsons Mcarus and Masai Edwards, her grand twin nephews Asir and Asif Budd, her aunt Diane Morse, and her stepmom Janice Jackson Cornish
Nicole had many friends, who were like family to her, Lisa Williams, Stacy, Sidney and Isaac, Ebeth Gomez, Chimir Smith, Rebecca Darby, Paula Molina, Brian Colon, Audrey Woods, Edith and Dennis Rollins, Cristal Rollins, Valencia Woods, Alexis Munoz, Delph Lake, Julene Dimino, Lisa and Chantel, there are many others, Nicole and family will be forever grateful for all of you being in her life.
