Dearest Family,
As I am carried, by our father into the next chapter. I am embraced by the lord’s promising and everlasting grace. I have loved and thought of you my dear loved ones and I wish for you to thrive and live peaceful the remainder of your days. Please do not mourn for me but celebrate my life; for I have overcame many obstacles and persevered through them all! Though my time on earth has come to an end, I displayed love, strength, and courage through my smile, laughter, and big heart. My soul will always Dance and Sing in his glory, I will always love you all and/so here’s my story.
I was born in Kingston North Carolina on March 2, 1955, to Carl and Lina Mae Koonce. I was the second of seven children, two daughters and five brothers. As the oldest girl I learned to cook and work the fields to help in the care of my younger siblings. At the age of eight, I was brought to the big city of New York, where I continued my education in the Bronx before moving to Staten Island with the rest of my siblings. At the age of twenty I was fortunate to acquire a career with the city of New York for the Department of Social Services where I remained successfully for 47 years. I am thankful for my time here.
As I leave, I am survived by my greatest accomplishments my two children my son Javon D Koonce and my daughter Tiffani-Raye Davis-Farrow I want to thank you for making me a proud Grandmother of five precious and beautiful munchkins! Three Granddaughters: Brianna Raye Koonce, Autumn Jade Koonce, and Synniah-Raye Farrow. Two Grandsons William Emmanuel Farrow (Man) and Benjamin Strickland. To my brothers Craig, Terry, and Ronnie, I love you and will miss you. To my aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, thank you for adding value to my life. I cherished our time together.
