Mitchell Graham, age 79 died of complications from Pneumonia on 7/17/2024 at Richmond University Medical Center.
Mitchell also known as Maurice, was born on September 19, 1944, in Marlboro County, South Carolina to parents Syrine and J.C. Graham. Maurice moved to Fort Green, Brooklyn, New York as a young man along with his mother, Syrine, Grandmother Tina and his brother James. He later moved to Staten Island along with his mother, Syrine and his brother James. He was employed for many years at Seaview Hospital and later Mount Loretto.
Maurice married Saundra Mathis in 1964 and the couple had a son, Mitchell. He later had children Rasheed, James and Sybrina with his girlfriend of many years, Diane Ellis.
Maurice was a social, active man who was deeply involved in Art for the majority of his life. He enjoyed music and movies. His family and friends will always remember him as “The Handy Man”.
Maurice is survived by his sons Mitchell, Rasheed, James and daughter Sybrina as well as numerous grandchildren and adopted Loved ones. He is preceded in death by his father J.C., Mother Syrine and older brother James, An Army Green Beret and posthumous Vietnam Purple Heart recipient.
