Milton M. Irwin, age 67, died from health complications on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, New York. Milton was born on September 30, 1953, in Manhattan, New York. To parents Henry and Mildred Irwin. He graduated from Seward Park High School in 1973 and attended Kittrell Junior College briefly.
Milton moved to Staten Island in 1975 and accepted a position as a Mental Health Therapist Aide for Willowbrook and continued his career at South Beach Psychiatric Center for more than 30 years. He retired due to health reasons in 2012.
Milton was a great family man, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He married Faye Wright-Irwin in February 1997, and the couple had a blended family of one daughter and three sons.
Milton was a very social man who loved basketball. His love for basketball started at a very early age. He played for several basketball leagues on the lower east side of Manhattan. His favorite league was known as the Black Athletes. He enjoyed traveling, good food, good music, and spending time with his family and friends. His friends and family will always remember him as uncle Milty.
Milton is survived by his wife Faye of Staten Island, New York; His daughter Taimeica Bell-Trimble of Atlanta, GA. Sons Andrea Milton of Endicott, New York, Monteal Bell of Staten Island, New York, and Anwar Gaskin of Manhattan, New York. Milton leaves behind 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He also leaves behind three sisters and two brothers. He is preceded in death by parents Henry and Mildred, his sister Regina, brother Cecil and his granddaughter Kayla.
