We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Michael Lee Ford, who departed this life on April 21, 2026.
Michael Lee Ford was born on September 14, 1978, in Staten Island, New York, to Lana Ford and Luis Valdez Abraham. He was raised in Park Hill, a proud Fox Hill native, where he built many lifelong memories and deep community ties. Mike remained connected to his roots throughout his life and passed away in the very apartment where he was raised.
Affectionately known by many names -"DOC," "Soundboy," and "Mikey"-each name reflected a different chapter of his life and the impact he had on those around him. Mike was truly the life of the party, full of energy, laughter, and a spirit that could light up any room. His favorite word, "HELLO," became his signature greeting, always said in a way that made everyone feel seen and welcomed. Even in the craziest moments, Mikey could find humor-sometimes being a little annoying, but always in a way that made people laugh. He had a joyful spirit and was known for always being happy, spreading that positivity to everyone around him.
Throughout his journey, Mike faced personal struggles and challenges, but he never lost who he was at his core-a genuine, funny, and loving person. Mike was a hardworking man who took pride in providing and always made sure to stay active in his children's lives, showing up for them with love and dedication. He worked hard to grow, striving to be the best version of himself while staying grounded in family. Mikey was also a dedicated worker for A&B Commercial Management LLC,where he took pride in his work and the responsibilities he carried.
Mike passed away from heart complications on April 21, 2026, and some would say also from a broken heart after the passing of his beloved mother. He was truly a mama's baby, no matter his age, and that bond stayed with him always. After their mother's passing, his sister Gladys stepped in and took on a motherly role, continuing that love and care within the family.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lana Ford; father, Luis Abraham; grandmother, Claudia Ford; grandfather, John Adam Quincy James; son, Michael S. Ford; aunts, Anna, Pam, Zulma Abraham ("Momma"), lvo Abraham ("Chewchi"), and Maria; uncles, Mack, Claude, Ronald, Vincent, and Ernest; cousins, Phil ("Pussy Cat"), Justin, Terrell, and Quincy; and his godmother, Elizabeth McIntosh.
