Marion Bryant Obituary

Marion Yvette Bryant, the daughter of Dorothy Bridgeforth, and George Shearrill, sister to William “Junebug” Bridgeforth, Victoria Browning, Michelle Hernandez, Kimberly Crumbs, Sherae Shearill, and mother to Bobby Lewis Lundy II was born July 9, 1966, in Staten Island New York.
On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in her home in Atlanta, Georgia, Marion began her ascension to see her Lord and Savior and to rejoin her beloved Mother and Brother in heaven. Marion’s divine heart always found the light in the darkest valleys, the goodness in even the most damaged of souls, and the love in every person she touched.
Marion graduated from Susan E. Wagner High School in 1984, before pursuing her passion in psychology at Wagner College. After school, Marion began a noble career as a New York City Police Officer in 1987. She served for 16 years protecting a community that loved her as much she loved it.
After the devastating tragedy of 9/11, Marion risked her life and safety as a first responder, helping victims of the tragedy escape and find refuge. She was a beacon of light on one of America’s darkest days. She is known and remembered as a hero to countless lives both during and after her time on the force.
After retiring from the NYPD in 2005, Marion dedicated her time to supporting and raising her only son, Bobby. In hopes of building a beautiful life for him, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2007, where she developed a fruitful network of friends and contributed greatly to her community.
In Georgia, Marion was known for her active involvement in her local church homes which she used as vehicles to donate to and support the less fortunate, continuing a legacy she started in New York. Marion spent her free time and holidays serving in soup kitchens, organizing fundraisers, and donating to many who benefited from her undying support.
Marion deeply enjoyed attending her son Bobby’s many games, events, performances, and celebrations. She also deeply loved her many aunts, cousins and family members who shared close and intimate relationships with her. Marion will be remembered by her family as being an essential pillar of both love and support that absolutely anyone could turn to in both difficult and festive times.
From a young age, Marion had an eye for artistic expression and began her extensive art collection filled with visually stunning works and incredibly rare limited editions. Known by many as having a museum for a house, Marion always kept a warm home that anyone was welcome to and where beautiful celebrations and events were enjoyed.
Additionally, she very much enjoyed her eclectic collection of music ranging from her mother’s vinyl collection to contemporary gospel stylings and everything in between.
Marion was preceded in death by her grandmother, Willie Mae Jefferson; aunt, Debra Jefferson; mother, Dorothy Jean Bridgeforth; brother, William “Junebug” Bryant; grandfather,  Leroy Jefferson.
She leaves to celebrate her life her father, George Shearrill; sisters: Victoria Browning, Michelle Hernandez, Kimberly Crumbs, Sherae Shearill; son, Bobby Lewis Lundy II; aunt, Vanessa Jefferson; aunt and uncle: Jackie and Lenny Stepheny, and Patricia and Harold Young; close first cousins including: Tamika, Tony, Jenee and Johnell, and a host of second cousins who adored her and other close relatives and friends whose lives she touched in many ways.
