Lillie Bell Janet, affectionately known to family and friends as "Aunt Pat", "Pat", "Ms. Pat" was born to Lillie Mae Gee-Jeter and Willie Boyce Jeter, in Jonesville, South Carolina on October 7, 1932. She departed this earthly realm on January 26, 2022 at the age of 89.

Pat was educated in the South Carolina public school system and upon graduating from high school at the age of 17, Pat moved to Staten Island, N.Y., where she resided with family and secured her first job at the Maidenform lingerie factory. After several years on Staten Island, Pat relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she reconnected with and married her childhood sweetheart, Claude

Carson. From their union they had one child, Brent Carson. Pat returned to Staten Island several years later, meeting and marrying Elmo Janet.

Upon her return to New York, Pat resumed working at the Maidenform lingerie factory in Bayonne, N.J. She remained an employee for the company until her retirement in 1997.

Pat often shared stories of how she would walk across the Bayonne Bridge every day to get to her job and longtime friend and co-worker Nola McKoy, shared that Pat was a "dear friend and mentor," who "taught me a lot about life and finances." Her sense of commitment was also evident in her work at Shiloh A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a faithful member for many years. Pat served as the Church General Claims Secretary, and she was an active member of the Kitchen Cabinet Committee. At almost every church affair, Pat could be found assisting others in the kitchen. She would often say she was "not a good cook" (although her deviled eggs were the best!), but instead was the ultimate kitchen supporter. Her Niece Earliene Wade remembers "Aunt Pat" as being "a good cook" with her "specialty being desserts." Her Niece Bessie Ann Rogers, remembers "Aunt Pat" as being all about family and "always there for us." Many of her friends and family remember Pat as having a good sense of humor and as being a person who would make you laugh with her stories and jokes. Ms. Pat was also a missionary in the true sense of the word, visiting the sick and making calls to the shut in. Pat was a loyal and true friend, who was loved by all who knew her.

Pat leaves to cherish her memories: Granddaughter Brentnei Carson of Zanesville, Ohio, brother Herbert Jeter of Indianapolis, Indiana, nieces Earliene Wade, Delores Bean, Deborah Morgan, Carlette Nixon of Columbus, Ohio and Bessie Ann Rogers of Jonesville, South Carolina, nephew Warren Murphy of Newport, Tennessee, longtime and devoted friends Manna Pinckney, Vera Grant, Kathryn Edwards of Staten Island, NY and Nola McKoy of Durham, N.C. in addition to a host of other relatives and friends. Pat is preceded in death by Claude Carson, Elmo Janet, son Brent Carson (2019), sisters Willie Mae Harris, Annie Jeter, Katherine Gaines, brothers Neal Boyce Jeter, Roy Gee, Stepmother Rowena Jeter and Parents Lillie Mae and William Jeter.
