Lahuma Michele Payton-Garrett was born on September 17, 1996 to Michele Payton and Anthony Garrett in Staten Island, NY. She attended New Dorp High School and joined the ROTC while in high school in the footsteps of her Mother and Grandfather.

Lahuma was an amazing, loving and caring mother of two beautiful children Crystelle and John Jr. Her children were the love of her life and family was everything to her. She and her two siblings Latrice and Ramon were very important to her and she loved them with all her heart.

Lahuma loved to sing, dance and other arts. She took classes at the Dance Theatre of Harlem at a young age. She was a young woman with a beautiful soul who was adventurous, outgoing and had a giving spirit.

Lahuma departed this life suddenly on October 21, 2022. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her beautiful daughter Crystelle and son John Jr. Two loving siblings, sister Latrice and brother Ramon. Her loving father Anthony. Two nieces, Morgan and Michele, two nephews, Zaire and Sebastian and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Michele Payton and Grandfather Gordon Payton.
