Kim Mary Shavuo, a native of the Bronx, passed away on August 9, 2025, at Richmond University Medical Center, just two days after her 61st birthday.
Kim was the proud mother of three children—Octavia, Allan, and Shequana—and the loving grandmother of Kimora and Jahir. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy.
She is also mourned by her stepmother, Stephanie Brown Shavuo; her older sister, Sharron Brown; and her younger sister, Jasmine Shavuo.
Kim was raised primarily by her father, Harold, with whom she shared a deep and lasting bond. She graduated from high school and pursued additional education through post-secondary courses.
In her later years, Kim faced a number of chronic health challenges. Though her life held many difficulties, she did her best to remain present in the lives of those she loved.
Her partner, Rick Sutton, stood by her side and supported her through those difficult times.
Now at peace and free from suffering, Kim is reunited with her beloved father and mother. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at rest in God’s care. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered
