Janel Constance James also known as Nellie sadly and unexpectedly passed 2/19/2025 in Staten Island,
New York at the age of 48
Janel was born on 4/26/1976 in Bronx Lebanon Hospital, New York to Elaine James and
George Beach. She had 3 Brothers named Raynard Gotha,Abdul Gotha and Antoine James.
Janel went to Port Richmond High School.
She met her love Jayson Jermaine Matthews at the age of 16
She worked at Wendy's, was a home health aid and worked for Department of Ed as a Bus Matron the kids loved her. The couple welcomed 2
kids into their lives, Jayson Matthews the oldest son and Jayden Matthews the youngest son.
Janel was a very loving and caring mother who would do anything
for her friends and family. Her smile and heart was very strong till the day
she passed she was a fighter. She always was positive and always wanted the best for everyone she cared about. All that knew her remember her as a kind loving Mother, Daughter and Friend who was always around to talk about anything and was always very supportive of friends and family.
Janel loved R&B music, cooking, watching crime shows, playing games and shopping. She got baptized in El bethel and went to ICC Church, loved her two dogs Coco and Milo.
She always made the days brighter with her beautiful smile and love. She is now free from the pain and suffering going on in the world and is with our father god above at peace. She will be missed and remembered for the rest of our life’s till the day god takes us back home to see her again.
This unexpected death leaves to mourn her two sons Jayson and Jayden, her Mother Elaine James, her 3 brothers Antoine Abdul and Raynard, her lifelong companion Jayson, her maternal Aunts and Cousins, her niece Jordin, her Godmother Ereline, her Mother in law Phillis , her Sister in law Odessa, all her friends and those who remember Janel James. With the help of Gods love and strength will we get through this difficult time. Rest in peace Janel James
