Helen L. Chavis known to many as Penny, Departed this life on the morning of May 17th, 2023. Helen was raised from an early age by the late Dollie Fonwillie. Penny was a graduate of Susan Wagner High school. She worked for UCP (United Cerebral Palsy) for many years until her health began to fail. Several years earlier, Helen met and married Kenneth Daniels and from that union, one son, Kenny Jr. was born. Both Kenny Sr. and Kenny Jr. are Predeceased. Helen was known for making her famous cakes from scratch. She was a very fun-loving person and always had jokes at family gatherings. In her teen years, Helen was baptized on Easter Sunday after which she joined the " Young Peoples Choir" of the St.Philips Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. WMA. Epps Jr. Helen leaves to cherish in her loving memory; two brothers: Jimmy Taylor of West Brighton and Joseph Coleman of N. Augusta S.C. Four nieces: Regina Tucker (her caretaker for many years) Tanisha Tucker, both from Staten Island; Rhonda Taylor of Decatur G.A. And Norell Drough also of Staten Island and one cousin Sandra Allen of W. Columbia, S.C. and a host of additional relatives and friends.
