Gerald R Rich, age 52 departed this life on November 14, 2024 in Staten Island New York.

Gerald Rayford Rich the second oldest  of Sonia Daly’s 5 children was born on June 20,1972 in Staten Island New York. He attended Intermediate School 61 and graduated from Curtis High School in 1990. During his childhood he attended the Seventh Day Adventist church with his grandmother where he was very active until he joined the Navy after high school.

After the Navy he had numerous jobs which included Campus Security at College of Staten Island, he drove for an Inventory Company and still managed to fit in refereeing and coaching. He has been coaching High school basketball going back to 2010. He was a socially active man who was deeply involved with coaching basketball for the youth. He was the best statistician, scorebook guy, scoreboard & shot clock operator for the majority of his life.

His family and friends will always remember him as a funny, caring, loving and protective person. He was very charismatic and outgoing but very stubborn. Some say he even cheated at spades. He loved to dance and was always the life of the party. He loved his family and good friends, and would drop everything to help them.
