On October 6, 1953 Franklin Caddle was born to the late Arthur Leon Caddle and Dorothy Green in Barbados West Indies. Franklin was promoted to Glory, gaining his wings on April 14, 2020 in Brooklyn, New York.
At an early age the Caddle family relocated to the United States, first to Georgia then onto Staten Island, New York. It is here where Franklin affectionately called “RED”, would make his mark, achieve his dreams and leave a lasting impression on generations of men and women.
RED obtained his GED then his professional barbers license. Franklin became a very popular and successful barber, often keeping clients for over 20 years. RED achieved his dream of opening his own barbershop from 2000 to 2008
This shop afforded RED the opportunity to teach, guide and offer a career to the young and underprivileged men of Staten Island. “RED” worked in several shops over the years but found his home at Heavenly Cuts Barbershop. You could often see Franklin sitting at the window reading his Bible or talking while cutting hair. There is no doubt ‘RED” was a living legend.
Franklin loved the Lord and was a loyal and trusted servant at his church, “Pentecostal House of Prayer” in Brooklyn.
Under the tutelage of Pastor Gwen Dingle, Franklin became a Deacon. It is here too where Franklin encouraged and inspired many to walk in faith with the Lord.
RED will always be remembered for having a welcoming smile and a clean-shaven head. Sleep on RED. Take your rest. We loved you but God loved you best.
Franklin is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Leon Caddle and Dorothy Green. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Angela Germany, Tanya Caddle and his beloved God-daughter Chaka Ritchie; one brother, Jackie Caddle, one aunt, Emma Jones, one uncle, Winston Caddle and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. “RED” also leaves behind “a real friend till the end, a brother’s keeper, Ronnie Littman.
The family would like to thank all those who have shown their kindness to them during this most difficult time. A special deep and sincere thank you to the entire staff at Heavenly Cuts and The Stradford Home for Funerals and Home.
