Errill aka E-Dub Nelson unexpectedly departed this Earth on March 7th, 2025 in Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, NY at the age of 53.
Errill Keith Nelson, Jr. the beloved son of Janet and Errill Nelson Sr. was born on October 17th, 1971 in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Staten Island, NY. He was the loving eldest brother of Asim and Khalid Nelson.
Errill was educated in the New York City Public School System. He auditioned and was accepted into Fiorello LaGuardia High School New York, N.Y. He graduated from LaGuardia in 1989. He attended Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY for three years (1989-1992). Errill was employed by the MTA at the time of his passing. He worked sixteen years for the Transit System as a traffic checker.
Errill and Maria Gonzalez were a couple since 2001. They were married on April 16, 2013, uniting their family of four children: Naimah, Saddiq, Cynthia and Joshua. His children remember him as a father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Errill was a loving person who put family first. He was articulate, well read, happy, joyous and stubborn, he enjoyed having fun and was Maria’s love. He liked “Keeping it real”, even if you didn’t agree with him.
Errill loved and was dedicated to his music. He started taking music lessons at the age of 11, playing the Viola. He continued to pursue his love of music with his group POSITIVE ENERGY.
Errill was preceded in death by his mother; Janet Lynn his grandparents; Ila Mae and Rufus Satchell, Elizabeth and Linster Leo Nelson, uncle Darryl Satchell and Aunt Barbara Satchell and a cousin Kera Satchell.
Errill is survived by his wife Maria Gonzalez-Nelson, his father Errill Nelson, Sr., his brothers; Asim and Khalid; his stepmother Kathy; his daughters; Naimah and Cynthia, his sons; Saddiq and Joshua, his aunts and uncles; Yvonne Williams, Valerie and Michael Carr, Izetta White, his sisters-in law; Gessieann and Kenia; his grandsons; Antonio (AJ), Jordan, Jayden, Bryce and Karter and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and close family members and friends who have witnessed his greatness and loved him.
