Eric Anthony Townes

Eric Anthony Townes was born in Harlem and raised in Staten Island, New York.  He was the son of the late Edward Townes and the late Doris J. Chinn

Eric attended Mckee H.S. Eric had a love for cooking.  He was always asked to cook for someone’s event or cook outs. He enjoyed his quiet time sitting by the water. Eric also had a passion for spending time with his family and friends during family gatherings, cook outs and watching sporting events.

At the time of Eric’s death, he loved taking time to enjoy his granddaughters. His daughters and granddaughters could get Eric to do ANY THING.

Eric is survived by his wife, Florence (Jenkins) Townes, his two daughters, Ms. Erica and Ms. Ashley Townes, his stepson who preceded him in death Mr Rickey T. Dowtin Jr. and his granddaughters Jaymie, Janelle, Jillian and Zoe.

Eric is also survived by his sisters Ms. Robin Wilson, Ms. Denise Townes, Ms. Edwina Townes-Stewart, Ms. Gabriella Albright and his brother Mr. Thor Townes and brother-in-laws, Mr. Walter Wilson and Mr. Christopher Albright.

Eric was well loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles that were extremely close to Eric and a host of good friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his dog “Bear” whom he loved dearly.

Eric had that rough exterior, however once he got to know you, he showed his true self and he was a friend for life.  He will be dearly missed by all who loved him!!!!
