Gail Richards
Elizabeth "Betty" Albertha Richardson
A life long Staten Islander, Elizabeth Richardson was born on September 10, 1946 to the late Oswald and Helen Richardson (nee Illidge). A graduate of Curtis High School she worked as a bookkeeper for the Lark Luggage Company and later as a Receptionist at New Broadview Manor Assisted Living before retiring.
In her retirement Betty enjoyed her days at the Cassidy Coles Senior Center going on trips to Sight and Sound plays, shopping and to Atlantic City. An avid reader, Betty enjoyed reading books by JD Robb and James Patterson. She also loved to crochet and often made scarves and blankets for family and friends. Betty was also a member of The Brighton Heights Reformed Church in St. George.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Oswald and Helen Richardson, brother Theodore Richardson (Ruby), and sisters Rosemarie Richardson and Norma Weaver (George). She is survived by her brothers Constant Alexander "Zander" Richardson (Lena) and Winston Richardson (Connie), sisters Delores Alston (Horace) and Ada Holloman, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Betty departed this life on Sunday, July 26th at Staten Island University Hospital North after a long illness. She will be laid  to rest at Fairview Cemetary in a private burial. Due to Covid-19 a memorial celebrating Betty's life will be scheduled at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Staten Island University Hospital North for the outstanding care they gave Betty through her illness.
