Big Gram Not The Little One

Gone but never forgotten in our hearts and memories, she will forever live. It is with a heavy heart that we join today to honor our Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, friend and loved one, Doris Eva Moore.

Doris lived her life unapologetically making an impact on the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Never wavering in her convictions or hesitating when a situation called for action. No matter the consequences or naysayers attempting to stop her. She spent her life saving and rescuing anyone in need and protecting the weak. Cookie was a fighter to the end!

One of seven children; born on January 15, 1947, to Robert and Doris Novak (both deceased); Doris Eva (nee Novak) Moore. Affectionately known as “Cookie” to many but her grandchildren called her “Gram” or ”Nonny”. On June 10, 2025 Cookie went on to join those that have awaited her; she is preceded in death by 2 husbands Linwood F. Moore and Tillman (Sonny) Adams; 3 siblings Robert Novak Jr, Daniel Novak, and Frances Esposito; 2 daughters Hilda and Tameika Moore.

We are here to honor, cherish, and continue her life’s work and dedication to family and loved ones. Our family and loved ones left to honor that are 3 sons Alfonzo Moore ( Brandi) , Alexander Moore and Thomas Moore ; 4 daughters Dannette Moore-Hassan, Shandora Moore and Stephanie Moore (Thomas) Ann White (Kevin); 3 siblings Gloria Bilski (Larry), Eva Polizzi and William Novak (Maryanne); 22 grandchildren Destiny Johnson, Divine Moore, Jasmine Yancey, Jamar Yancey Jr., Lamar Dubose, Kenyardley Hammonds, Kei’Yana Hammonds, Trinity Moore, Jada Moore, Madden Moore, Kevin White, Donte Yancey, Renee Yancey, Antonia Hassan, Vanessa Hassan, Anthony Hassan, Ariana Moore, Roslyn Moore, Joshua Garcia, Alexander Hernandez, Mikil Hernandez, Vanessa M. Moore; 2 great-grandchildren Rashad Hassan and Kamiyah Moore; Special to her heart, Felicia Goldwine (Bernard) and Thomas Tibbs Jr. (Kristiana); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Doris enjoyed her work experience as an Independent Living Care Manager in New York, but the call to caring for her family was greater and far more rewarding, she retired and moved to New Jersey where she remained assisting her daughter to care for her grandchildren.

A special thanks to staff and administration of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Voorhees, NJ and Boyd Funeral Home Camden, NJ for taking such good care of our warrior.

Doris, was known for her ability to create special moments with those who cherished her, whether it be through storytelling: creating magical worlds for her grandchildren to explore or simply just being silly. A mastermind at pulling life’s strings and showing it who was truly boss. Doris was a master at causing smiles and groans simultaneously. She was stubborn, strong, feisty and determined. A true force to be reckoned with, with the most intense heart. Doris loved fiercely and taught those around her how to do the same. She touched the lives of so many and left a legacy of love and warmth that will remain in our hearts forever.

As you leave here today and you seek ways to honor Cookie long after we have gone from this place- live your life like she lived hers, unapologetically. Don’t be afraid of stepping up or speaking out. Be fierce, love with an intense heart; don’t waiver in your convictions, and protect those unable to defend themselves. May the kindness that she showed others and unwavering spirit live on within you.

For that is how we honor her legacy and keep her alive within us.

WE LOVE YOU GRAM!!!
