“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
On July 7th 2025, God called home one of His own. Davell Marvin Blount, known lovingly as “Scooter” by his family and “Kapo” by his friends, departed this life at the young age of 29 in Staten Island, New York.
Davell was known for his sharp sense of humor, protective nature, and strong loyalty to those he loved.
He was the kind of person who stood up for his people and made sure you knew he had your back.
He was dependable, funny, and always kept it real. His presence was felt, and his absence will be
deeply missed.
Davell is survived by his mother, Vennisa Darby, his father, Dominick Blount Sr., and his grandmother, Cora Darby.
Most importantly, Davell leaves behind his four children: Davell Blount Jr., Alizay Chanel Blount, Scarlett Maylani Blount, and Selene Sequena Blount. They were the most important part of his life
He also leaves behind his siblings: Dominick Blount Jr., Demonte Blount, King Blount, Prince Blount, Olivia Blount, Lanell Blount, Eve Blount, Donivan Blount, Divina Blount, His memory will also live on through his niece, Layla Dominique Blount, and his nephews Josiah Darby, and Jaylen Dominick Blount
He was preceded in death by his sister Sequena Darby, his grandfather Willie Darby, his grandmother Gloria Blount, his aunts lyn Bethea and Tear Blount
Davell had a natural ability to bring laughter into the room, often using his humor and bold spirit to uplift the people around him. He was known for his protective nature, his loyalty, and the way he stood by his loved ones with an unshakable presence.
His impact extended far and wide, and he will be deeply missed by a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends who were touched by his life
Though we grieve his loss, we rejoice knowing that he is now resting in the arms of the Lord, free from all pain and surrounded by peace. We hold close the promise that this is not goodbye, but see you later.
