Collin N. Bassier, 65 died of cancer on Sunday, October 10, 2021, in Calvary Hospital.
Collin was born on November 25, 1956, in Mitchell Town, Clarendon, Jamaica to parents Maisie McGill, and Vincent Bassier. In 1982, he moved to America to start his career as an electrician which he dedicated more than 40 years of his life. After six months of leaving Jamaica, he knew he couldn’t live without his girlfriend at the time, Gem J. Bassier. He returned to Jamaica to marry the love of his life.
In 1982, he married Gem and eight years later they had three beautiful children together. He was not only a dedicated and loving husband but also a great father. Collin’s greatest passion in life was ensuring his children had a brighter future. During Collin’s spare time, he enjoyed family outings, cooking, and working on cars. In his community he was known as a selfless and loving man, who was always willing to help and support anyone in need.
Collin is survived by his wife, Gem Bassier; his children, Amanda, Andrew and Adam Bassier; His grandson, Aiden Bassier; his brothers, Tony, Clement, Michael, and Paul Bassier; and his sisters, Claudeth Malcolm and Beverly French. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maisie McGill Hamilton; and his father, Vincent Bassier.
