Charlotte May (Spicer) Cooper was born on June 5, 1933, to Thomas and Irene Spicer. She was the eighth of ten children. She grew up surrounded by her seven brothers-Buddy, Edward, Thomas, Fred, Arthur, Albert, and Herbert-and her two sisters, Ida and survived by Irene. Charlotte was raised in Stapleton and attended P.S. 14. She later completed her education at McKee High School in St. George. She began her career at American Express Travel Agency, where she handled reservations, and later worked at Macy's as a timekeeper Charlotte met the love of her life, John Ralph Cooper, and the two were married on January 17, 1953. Together, they built a beautiful family with four children: two daughters, Valorie and Sabina, and two sons, Ralph and Stuart. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren-Kevin, Elijah, Sherell, Stu Stu, Aaron, Sanisha, Steven, Tyler, and Taylor-and her seven great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Tyrese, Christian, Mia, Mya, Aaliyah, and Naiela. Šhe is also cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
