Carrie Lee Miles Taylor was born on July 30, 1948, to Henry Taylor (preceded in death) and Leona Banks Taylor (preceded in death). Carrie was raised in NC along with her sisters Jessie Mae Parker (proceeded in death), Lottie B. Daniels (preceded in death) Annie Mae Parker (preceded in death) along with her brother Willis Taylor (preceded in death). In September of 1963, Carrie married James H. Miles Sr. in N.C. Carrie and James begin to raise their family in N.C. until they later settled in Staten Island N.Y. Carrie worked Part time as a Home Health Aid. She was also a wonderful housewife. In her younger years of her life, Carrie enjoyed entertaining her family and friends as well as taking road trips. She loved to travel to Atlantic City, Virgina and N.C. to visit family and friends. She would host family gatherings at her home like BBQ’s, card games, etc. Carrie would help anyone that she could. During her later years of life her health took a toll on her. She couldn’t do all the things she enjoyed in her younger years. At this point in her life, she would watch her soap operas (stories), listen to music, watch Nigeran movies, spend time with her grandchildren, attend Sunday Service and of course she had to make her Sunday dinner. Carrie will be truly missed.

Carrie leaves behind her eldest child Sondra J. Miles (only daughter), Herbert L. Miles (son), James H. Miles Sr. (ex-husband). Carrie was preceded in death by her eldest son James H. Miles jr., Melvin L. Miles Sr. (son), Malcom Miles (son), Durail Miles Sr. (son), Jasmine N. Miles (granddaughter) and James H. Miles III (grandson). She leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 31 great children, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Carrie loved her family. All she wanted was for them to be strong, stay together and LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!
