On March 1, 1942 Beverly Tendle was born Easter Bell Tendle to the late Arling Sr & Mollie Tendle in Dalville, Alabama. She departed peacefully from this earth on January 23, 2018 at Richmond University Medical Center.
Beverly attended Pincard High School and later became the proud parent of a baby girl named Patsy Elizabeth Tendle. She then moved to Brooklyn, New York where she met Eddie Pauling Jr., from this union, Carmen La-June Pauling was born.
While living in Brooklyn she worked in the Domestic Services field and in 1985, changed careers and began providing child care services out of her home. Beverly continued caring for children for 16 years until she decided to move to Staten Island to be closer to Carmen and her grandchildren. It was during her time in
Staten Island that Beverly started studying with the Jehovah Witnesses and attending the Kingdom Hall.
During her later years, Beverly worked hard to remain independent in spite of having a home care attendant 12 hours a day. Personality clashes presented some challenges with a few but there was one that Beverly was particularly fond of Blanche Lloyd. Blanche and Beverly’s client – provider relationship morphed into a friendship and they often talked about family and how their relationship grew.
Beverly loved being around her grandchildren and was so happy to see her great grandchildren. She had a special bond with grandson Charles. Charles was the only one to get her to do silly poses and to smile even, when she wasn’t at her best.
Beverly is preceded by her parents and two brothers: RT Tendle, Willie James Tendle. Survivors include two daughters and son in-laws: Patsy Elizabeth Latouche (David Sr) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Carmen La-June Johnson (Lyndon) of Staten Island, NY; Three sisters: Annie Doris, Lois, Barbara Ann; one brother: Arling Tendle; Five Grand Children: Franchesca Latouche and David LaTouche Jr. Charles Smith, Claudia Smith, Simone Johnson; Six Great Grand Children: Javon, Aurbrina, David, Izariah, Adonis, Camryn; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
