Anita James, aged 68, passed away on June 30, 2024, in Staten Island, NY. Born on December 18, 1955, in Manhattan, NY, She was a beloved sister to Dr. Diana Ballard (Forrest). Anita was preceded in death by her siblings Charles McClendon, Elaine James, Lester James, and Jerry James.
Anita was known for her vibrant personality characterized by her humor, politeness, generosity, and charitable nature.

Anita dedicated many years to her career as a Home Health Aid, providing care and comfort to many families. She was a passionate reader, an avid cook, a talented painter, and enjoyed watching Lifetime movies. Anita also found joy and spiritual fulfillment at Freedom in God Ministries.
Mother to Tasha James (Ken), Christina James (Jacob), and Latoya James, a cherished grandmother to La'shaun, Dejah, La'Niah, Christian, Isaiah, Elijah, Jeremiah, Azaria, and ForeverLove, and Great-grandmother to Derek Humphrey, and De’Arra James. Anita leaves behind a host of nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She held an Associate Degree from Kingsborough College, which underpinned her professional and personal achievements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Red Cross or PETA in memory of Anita's compassionate spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others.
