He later attended borough of Manhattan community college and received his bachelors degree in business administration. He later worked at borough hall on Staten Island. Soon after started working for NYC department of transportation. Where he moved up in ranks, to the rank of buildings inspector, receiving the Coveted Inspector’s Badge. Then he retired after fourteen plus years of dedicated service, due to his illness.
If you knew Dre he was not one for excuses. With his sickle cell anemia disease, he would join family and friends on trips, and traveling, because his disease never stopped him from doing what he wanted to do. From watching the football games on Sundays, going to school or going to work. Dre had no excuses. Even getting his AUDI TT he made no excuses. Dre made a difference in everyone he touched.
For if you knew him, you knew why we must honor him. Dre will always be in our hearts. A beacon of our strength that never shuts off and will never leave us, our eternal flame. In the end, your life will be measured by the life you lived.
