Alla Mae Clark is originally from Muskogee,Oklahoma. In the early 1940's she moved to Staten
Island, New York with her husband, to start a family and continue education as a Medical Practitioner.
She was the first African- American student to be accepted into the Saint Vincent's Nursing Program.
Alla Mae Clark graduated top in her class and continued to practice medical care for 44 years. During that time she also helped various communities to receive scholarships,grants, stipends, for employment,
loans for housing and educational opportunities. Alla Mae has been a member of Saint Philips Baptist
Church for sixty seven years. She has served as President in the Progressive Nurses Club. Always
contributing to the greater good of mankind, Alla you shall truly be missed.
PROGENY: Avis Ofori-Yeboah her daughter, Ousmani and Christina Ofori-Yeboah her grand children.
