Alice Faye Forman, age 81, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 11, 2024 in her childhood home on her family’s farm in Crystal Hill, Virginia.
Alice Forman was born on April 8, 1943 in South Boston, Virginia to parents Sallie Thalia Barbour and John Will Jones. She was one of 6 siblings: Robert, Harry, Frederick, Addie, Barbara and John Wayne. She moved from Virginia to NYC in 1962 where she started working as Clerk Typist before eventually taking a position at CUNY as an administrative assistant. She continued her education at Hofstra University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in HR/Labor Relations. This led her to a lifetime career in the CUNY system spending over 40 years between Hunter College and the College of Staten Island where she worked as the Assistant Director of Human Resources until her retirement.
Alice was a devoted mother to Remunda Forman-Fong and Edward Forman (Carolyn). She was a loving grandmother (Nana) to Mei Ling Fong, Malik Findley and Danielle and Katelyn Forman and great grandmother/Gigi Nana) to Major and A’Mei Stevenson.
Alice devoted her life to God from an early age. She was an active member of the Mount Sinai Christian Church since 1999, having spent many years dedicating herself to the Health Ministry. She dedicated time for daily prayers and devotion and lived her life serving the Lord.
In her free time, Alice loved spending time with family and friends. She was very active in the Red Hats Community after her retirement and enjoyed many trips and outings.
She is survived by her sister Barbara and brothers Addie, John Wayne; her daughter Remunda of Staten Island, NY; her son Edward (Carolyn) of Montclair, NJ and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mei-Ling Fong, Danielle and Katelyn Forman, and Major and A’Mei Stevenson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sallie and John Will Jones, her siblings Robert, Harry, Frederick, and her grandson Malik Findley.
