Alberta was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Harry and Thelma Ross. Alberta relocated to New York with her family in the early 1950's. In New York she started a family while working in various hospitals as a patient care technician. Upon moving to Staten Island, Alberta married Manriah Lloyd. Together they expanded their family while Alberta worked at Staten Island University Hospital. She was known to her family and friends as a loving, strong woman who was always there for anyone in need. After raising her own 6 children, Alberta opened her heart and home to a 7th child, Devon Williams, whom she lovingly called Neally. She raised him from birth and let everyone know he was more than her grandson and more like her son and the light of her life. Years later Alberta again opened her home and wholeheartedly became a foster parent and caretaker for special needs individuals. Her favorite pastimes including traveling, she loved to cruise the Caribbean and visit Atlantic City regularly. She loved to travel so much she started her own traveling agency. Alberta also loved to watch football, cook for her family and host family events. She was very caring and loved to be surrounded by her family, especially her great grandchildren whom she spoiled. Alberta is survived by her brother, Andy Magnum, her children, Conrad Lewis, Tarigi Williams, Michael Lloyd, Kikiana Lloyd and Manriah Lloyd, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Manriah and her son Jerry (Phase) Mcmanus. Alberta will be greatly missed by many but never forgotten because she was truly one of a kind!
