Alan James Obituary

Alan George James was born on September 28, 1964, in Newark, New Jersey, to George A. and Joyce F. James. He was the youngest of their three sons. Affectionately known as Al, he attended Catholic school in Newark before relocating with his family to Roselle, New Jersey, where he graduated from Abraham Clark High School. He spent much of his adult life in New Jersey before making his home in the Bronx, New York.

Alan was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and caring spirit. During his mother's final years, he lovingly served as her caregiver. Prior to his health beginning to fail, Al worked for a short period of time with the New York City Department of Sanitation. Family meant everything to him, and he treasured every opportunity to gather with loved ones. He never passed up a good home-cooked meal and could always be counted on to enjoy a full plate at family celebrations. A devoted sports fan, he faithfully supported the Raiders, the New York Knicks, and the New York Mets. He was especially thrilled when the New York Knicks won the 2026 NBA Championship.

On July 2, 2026, Alan entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Allen James and Joyce Francesca James; his half-sister, Sharon Parson; and his brothers, Brian James and Steven James.

Alan leaves to cherish his memory his nieces, Darnéa La Pierre (Lawrence), Tia Brooks-Spearman (Jonathan), and Kaylyn James; his nephews, Jasper Parson and Kameron James; his great-nieces and great-nephews, TeSean, Hasson, David, Elijuah (Kajaya), Madison, Lawren, Asiya, Ayden, Bryson, Eli, and Elena; his great-great-nephews, Kasey and Elijuah Jr.; and his great-great-nieces, Honesty and Nyari. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, lifelong friends, and the many cherished friends he met in the Bronx.

Alan will be remembered for treating everyone with dignity, kindness, and respect. His loyalty, generous spirit, and unwavering love for family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

We Love You, Al!

YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
