Patricia" Pat" Lacey Obituary

Patricia Lacey also known as “Pat” was born in Manhattan, NYC on January 17th, 1949 to the late Mildred and Archie Knight. Her mother Mildred was of Jamaican descent and her father Archie was of Southern descent.

Two very strict and hardworking parents, they impressed upon their children the importance of education. They were a very small family who lived during the Civil Rights Era. Pat accompanied her father in the march in Washington at 12 years old creating an indelible impression on her. The march was a pivotal part of her development, teaching her to stand up, fight and persevere through any adversity.

In addition to teaching her to fight for her rights, they also involved her in the arts such as ballet, orchestra (Cello) and the choir. She often spoke of her experiences singing at “Carnegie Hall” with her choir as one of her proudest moments and achievements. Pat, an aspiring young woman, attended and graduated from Central Commercial H.S. at the top of her class. Shortly thereafter, gained employment at Bergdorf Goodman.

This fashionista absolutely had a love of beauty, fashion and style.

Pat’s family eventually relocated to Staten Island, where she met and married Richard Lacey and started their own family. She was a loving mother to her four children all while working diligently in the business administration field at various companies in NYC. In later years, she was integral in the entrepreneurship for her dear friend. Altruistic she was!

A very loyal friend, she would help any way she could, whenever possible.

She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren making sure each and everyone of them felt extremely special in their own individual way. They all felt like grandma’s favorite.

Pat leaves behind four children. Kisha Knight, Desjurdin Lacey, Semion Lacey and Nicole Lacey. Grandchildren, Kishonna, Desjeuner, and Marcya Knight. Xyaire Ford, Samantha Lacey, Brandon Garcia, Cory Garcia, Desjurdin Lacey, II, Atreyu Lacey and a host of nieces and nephews.
