Joseph Glisson, Jr., 67, of 125 Corson Avenue, died Saturday, 28 September 2019 in Staten Island University Hospital. Joseph Jr. was born in Brooklyn on 6 August 1952. He was the second of three boys of parents Carita and Joseph Glisson.
Joseph attended Franklin K. Lane. He worked in marketing before relocating to Staten Island where he joined the Parks Department. Joseph was known by all for his easy-going nature. He enjoyed chess and NY Giant’s football. He was a movie connoisseur with an impressive video collection. Joseph also appreciated music. His favorite was Sun Goddess, an easy-going jazz tune by Ramsey Lewis that topped the charts in 1974.
Joseph was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, Grandfather, partner and friend. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother and survived by two sisters, Cheryl and Iris, two brothers, Carl and Eric, son DaSean, three grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-law’s, partner Mona and friends.
A family memorial service is scheduled for Joseph on Saturday 26 October 2019 at 11:00am at Stradford Chapel, 1241 Castleton Ave, Staten Island, New York 10310.
All are welcome to attend to pay respects and celebrate the loving memory of Joseph's life.
