Kendrah Sonya Indira Gadraj McFadden, the oldest child of

Anselmo and June Gadraj was born on June 30, 1969 in New

Amsterdam, Berbice, Guyana. She quietly slipped away on December 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Police Officer McFadden passed away from a 9/11 related illness.

Kendrah spent her formative years at Vryman’s Erven in Guyana, and she

continued her education at P.S./I.S. 104, in Brooklyn, when she came to the United States. Kendrah attended Fort Hamilton High School where she excelled academically. She was a member of the track team, played the clarinet, and worked at the Fort Hamilton Army Base while in high school. She graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in June 1985.

Kendrah met Sean McFadden in 1989. They have two beautiful children to reflect their love; Demetrius Sean McFadden, and Virginia June

McFadden. They moved their family to Staten Island in 1999, and

were married on September 1, 2001.

Kendrah graduated from the Police Academy in April 2001. Police

Officer McFadden served her city with pride and dignity. Police Officer McFadden was compassionate, and always positive. She loved being part of NYPD family. Kendrah had a great sense of humor , but she got the job done efficiently. She did not hesitate to report to duty at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks.

Kendrah had many hobbies which included dancing ( all night long!), listening to music, cooking and eating! She also loved betting on football and basketball games, scratch-offs, and BINGO. Kendrah’s big heart drew people in all the time. She welcomed all to her house and it was a constant place for family gatherings and parties. Kendrah loved her

family, and spending time with them. She especially enjoyed spontaneous trips down south to visit them. She loved everyone and always made you laugh and smile. Her love will live on in all of us.

Kendrah was preceded in death by her grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and her in-laws Jesse and Virginia McFadden. She leaves to cherish her loving memory; her husband Sean McFadden, her parents Anselmo and June Gadraj, her children Demetrius Sean McFadden,

Virginia Mc Fadden, Akia McFadden, sisters Yvette Adrienne Blunt

( Marcus), Miriam Gadraj, her brother Anselmo Gadraj Jr. (Donna), 3 grandchildren, and Demetrius Jr., Keoni, and Toni McFadden,2 nieces Jade and Amina Blunt,3 nephews Jamelle Blunt (Lauren), Isaiah Blunt and Matthew Gadraj.

She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to cherish her memory.
